Referrals & Puppies in their new homes!

Here's a few of our puppies in their new homes & all grown up!
We love hearing from their new owners.

We are preferred breeders at - the largest and most informative web site for the Goldendoodle. The following letter was sent to Blue Sterling, who owns as a referral.
Blue, Good morning.
I would be happy to give a referral for Barbara. She is a really wonderful, caring person who takes time out to place the perfect dog with your family. When we went to pick out "Dempsey," not only were we looking for the perfect dog, but Barbara was looking for the perfect owners for her "babies." We went with the intention of finding a blonde goldendoodle and fell in absolute love with a black one. We brought him home for our children on Valentine's Day 2006.

The kennel was immaculate. The facility, both indoor and out, were perfect for the puppies as was her adult dogs. It is very spacious and exceptionally clean. When the puppies are born, Barbara holds each one of the puppies close to her face within minutes of birth. We went to see them at approximately 8 weeks of age. When Barbara would handle the puppies, they would immediately calm down when she held them and spoke to them. It was truly an amazing site. She truly loves these puppies and it is so evident in their temperaments.
Let me tell you a little about Dempsey. He is an amazing animal. He disposition is one that amazes everyone who meets him. He is so calm and lovable. He was fully housebroken in less than 2 weeks. He loves to be around us. We have 3 children ages 3, 6, and 7. He loves the children and wants nothing more than to be where we are. He was neutered at 5 months and did perfect. The Vet and all his staff just adore him and have told us what a wonderful pet we have. When he goes in for his well-visits, he actually "smiles" at the staff, if you can believe that! I can't begin to tell you how happy we are with Dempsey!
Personally, I would never have any other breed and I would only use Barleycroft Kennels for any new puppy we bought! I'd refer Barbara over and over again to anyone interested in a Goldendoodle puppy.
Thanks, Kim

I wanted to follow up and let you know “Molly” has been an absolute joy and an amazing addition to our family!  Everyone who meets her can’t believe how calm she is!  She has been sleeping through the night for the most part too.  Molly follows our daughter Ella everywhere, they have become close friends already! I can’t thank you enough for allowing us to be her family!   Julie

Hi Barbara-

We wanted to update you about Charlie! We absolutely love having him be part of our family. The love for him is endless! He’s such a sweet dog with a great personality. He’s 5 1/2 months and probably 45 pounds already. He loves to play with the kids, go for walks, and ride in the car with us. He’s been on a road trip to Virginia already and did great in the car. As long as he’s with us he’s so happy! He’s coming camping with us this weekend and cape May NJ in August! He has been coming  to soccer games and baseball games all spring. He’s meeting some dog friends and he is very sweet and gentle with other dogs.

He’s been a great puppy and the best thing that has happened to our family! We wish you well and can’t thank you enough for Charlie   Fondly, Lisa and Chris

Hi Barbara!

Hope you’re well!! Here is a picture of Kori on her first birthday today!!! She’s grown into a gorgeous dog (just got her first groom last week ). She’s 55 lbs, and not sure she’ll grow much more than that!  She is so sweet and mellow, we have so much fun with her!  We could not imagine life without her!  I was wondering if you have any other recent pictures from her litter mates? Would love to see how they all look!     Bryn & Ryan

Hi Barbara!  I adopted my goldendoodle, Nelson, 9 years ago from you.  I just want to write and say thank you for breeding such a wonderful boy!  He has been a wonderful companion and was even patient enough to move all the way to Amman, Jordan with me.  In a culture that doesn't believe in pets, he is slowly winning over hearts one by one with his lovable personality.  He lives in a dorm with 27 girls and is now the star of the show when he is out in the hallway.  The running joke on our boarding school campus in Jordan is that he is half sheep and half dog.  He is such a funny guy -he does a dance when you scratch his rump, chases leaves as though he is saving the world by catching one leaf at a time, won't touch a potato chip but will do anything for a bite of whipped cream, and will never swim but would lie down in the water all day long.  He also has a newfound love of hedgehogs; he just doesn't understand why they don't want to play with him as much as he wants to romp with them.  Thank you for giving me such a loyal companion.I have attached a photo of him in all his glory on our campus; he is a bit dusty, but then again he does live in the desert.

All my best,  Julia

Hi Barbara,

Just wanted to say thank you again for this wonderful little guy. He is so smart. He house trained in a couple of weeks with just a couple of accidents. He is doing great at puppy training. He is an absolute love bug. He is the perfect match for our family.

Thanks again!

Amei and Ryan

Barbara  I haven’t sent you any pictures of Snickers since we adopted her from you last October!  We love her so much.  We never knew what was missing from our family until we got her.  She is a wonderful dog and we are so lucky to have her. Snickers!!!   Thank you for her adding so much joy to our lives.  The Smeraldi Family

Adopted from you October 2017

Hi Barbara!

It has been quite some
time since we checked in but we wanted to pass along some photos of  Ludo. He is such a special boy and we love him so much! He is a wonderful big brother to our newest family member, our (human) son Avery, who will be 1 next month! While Avery is not allowed to sleep in our bed, Ludo sleeps in between us every night.  We have relocated to California for work since October and we are told by everyone we meet how beautiful Ludo is and what a wonderful dog he is. We don’t know what we would do without him and can’t  thank you enough for bringing him into our family.  We hope you are doing well!     Marie

Hi Barb,

My husband, Tommy  and I picked up a golden doodle puppy from you on October 21st. We named her Poppy and absolutely adore her. Attached is a photo of her at 7 months - she is 43 lbs and full of love and energy. She is very smart, and great with all people and dogs. I also wanted to let you know that we got Poppy spayed, and am attaching verification here. Thanks again for everything!

Dear Barbara,   My name is Robin. I am reaching out because we got our beloved Wally from you 11 1/2 years ago. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to him on March 23rd, 2019. I wanted to tell you what an amazing dog he was. Everything about him was incredible and he was a huge part of our family. He is sorely missed already.  I also wanted to say thank you, for Wally filled our home with so much love. Hopefully, one day soon we will get another dog and, if we are lucky, he will follow in Wally’s footsteps. Best Regards, Robin

Hi Barbara,

We just wanted to give you an update and also write a review because I don’t think we ever did. Jax is doing great. He’s getting big. Our boys refer to him as the beast (like the dog in the movie The Sandlot. Hahaha). He is such a lover. He thinks he’s a lap dog. He’s still very much a puppy but we’re continuing with training and he gets better every day. He’s very very smart. He was potty trained in less than two weeks after we brought him home. He learned sit, paw, lay, and rollover in less than a month. He was the only puppy in his puppy class to do roll over. Jax got his first haircut this past weekend and the groomer said he was amazing for his first time. We’re a little biased but we think he’s pretty handsome. We truly enjoyed our experience at Barleycroft. You were a pleasure to work with and you’ve been so responsive to every question we’ve had in the first 8 months with Jax. You can tell you truly care about all of your dogs. I highly recommend anyone looking for a Goldendoodle to check out Barleycroft.           I hope all is well.  Thanks,  Mike and Melissa

Dear Barbara,

We brought Ben home on 9/3/16. He is a remarkable dog. He passed four levels of obedience, including Canine good citizen. He is now a registered therapy dog with KPets and so far has visited special needs kids, colleges, and Hospice.  We named him Ben with "Gentle Ben" in mind. He is very gentle, calm, self contained, friendly with dogs and people alike, an overall wonderful and sweet dog, a gentle giant. I met someone today who wants a golden doodle, and I am sending her your website and contact information. Oh yes, he respects our cats and maybe even likes them a little. They rule. One surprise is that Ben outweighs both of his parents, coming In at about 75 lbs, and not fat. We love him very much, and sometimes are stunned by how sweet, smart, and loving he is.Thanks so much for you responsible breeding of these precious dogs!         Anna and Joe

Hi Barbara,    Sending over a picture of Paige. She is a wonderful girl. Very sweet. Very funny. She finished Puppy K and past her evaluations to earn her AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Certificate. She LOVES people so much and plays so nicely with other dogs. The other day, on a walk, a car stopped and the driver asked, “Is that a Barleycroft Goldendoodle?!” They had one many years before and really liked to see Paige. Even my son’s classmate has a Barleycroft Goldendoodle who is six and his name is Hunter. Did not know that until we brought Paige home. She is five months and 50 lbs so far. Hope you are well. Thank you for Paige. She is the best.   Chris, Christine and Nicholas

Please find our application for a new puppy and also a few pictures of Dudley.  Dudley is now 10 and we are looking to add another wonderful family member!!! He is the best and doing great.  Please call with any questions and I will mail the deposit tomorrow morning.   Thank you in advance. The Mills Family

Barb, wanted to let you know we are so very pleased and excited to have Lord Bentley of Pebble Hill (Bentley). He is 16 months old now and just this passed Saturday passed his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) with the AKC.  We are so very happy with Barlycroft and Bentley and look so forward to adding a 2nd Doodle from you on the near future.  Bentley is only one feat away from being a registered Therapy Dog that he should take in the next 3 months. Thank you for all you guidance and care you bring to you babies.  This is Mike with Bentley and our trainer Susie after him passing his test.

I thought you'd like to see how well the boys are getting along. Wood has learned to play softly enough with Holmes (we had to change his name as Sherlock sounded too much like Woodstock), and Holmes loves him.

Thanks, as always for your wonderful puppies!

Dear Mom (and Dad),

Thought you might like to see what I’ve been up to. We went to the beach for a few days. There were dogs everywhere and we had a blast. Then I got my new big-girl hairdo. All in time for my first birthday!

Love,    LC

Hi Barbara- John here- very proud Dad of Zoey, my beautiful Golden Doodle puppy from your May litter. She's just over 5 months old now and just over 30 pounds. I just want to say how happy and grateful I am for, obviously, finding the best breeder to suit my needs and make me a very happy and proud (1st time) dog owner. She is incredible- oh so friendly (with everyone) and has the best disposition an owner could ask for.  It makes me feel like a proud parent for the countless compliments I receive for her.  She is so popular with all my customers at the restaurant and everyone always wants to know what she's up to. I only bring her to the restaurant on the weekends now.  During the week, I drop her off at my parents which has been an incredible addition to their lives as well. My 82 year old Father walks her 3-4 times a day and eagerly waits for me to drop her off in the morning.  We enrolled in puppy training classes in August which she passed with flying colors. We'll be doing more advanced training soon, as well as possibly taking some agility training classes. She loves running around and is very active so I think it would be a perfect fit.

Thanks again.

Best regards,   John

Hi Barbara – here is our Annie at a year old at Petsmart for a St Pawtrick’s Day play date. She goes to doggie day care about 1 day a week. She is now 53 lbs. and is a very lovable but rambunctious dog. John refers to her as a “Wackadoodle’. She lives for belly rubs, hugs and snuggles, her ball launcher, her doggie TV,  her stuffed animals, treats and chewies and frosty paws, her cousin dogs, and her family. She licks her moo cow and puppy stuffed animals while holding them next to her chest at night with her head on her elephant. It is so adorable that she still loves the stuffed toys that were here for her when we brought her home from your farm. She really loves the snow and the colder it is, the better she likes it. She sits, lays down and sits from a lay position on command. She waits well and will stay (up to 10 feet). She walks well on a leash with ourselves and others, but sometimes lunges at cars or people yanking our arm right out of the socket! She greets other dogs appropriately and likes all animals and people. We are hoping to have her tested soon to pass her puppy star. She sleeps with us and showers us with love but is a mischief maker as well. Her loving nature makes up for the chewed woodwork, and stolen socks, gloves, and handkerchiefs and 2 pairs of glasses – OH MY!

Dear George and Barbara,
Today is Heidi Marin’s third birthday. I wanted to let you know a little bit about this amazing dog.
When I brought my first goldendoodle home with me in 2005 I could have never imagined the joy that Anya would bring into my life. She was with me for 10 years. When she left, I thought I would never love another dog, ever.
That was, until Heidi Marin came into my life. She’s not quite the lady that Anya was.Heidi Marin is a F1B GoldenDoodle.. Her coat is not as silky. She’s got curls. She doesn’t have the lean elegance that Anya had. She’s “solid”. But, oh my heart, HeidiMarin is an incredible dog. Loving, sweet, so wonderful with children, a bit of a rascal, and oh so beautiful in all of her own ways.
Thank you Barley Croft  Kennels, for two of the most wonderful  dogs I could ever imagine! Everywhere we go, people ask where I found Heidi Marin. I have told dozens of people about you. I hope some of them have made their way to your door.

I just want to thank you for the basic start you give all your puppies and specifically for Gracie.  She is a real joy to lots of people.  The picture shows her dressed for her Nursing Home visits through Paws for People.  She certified as a Therapy Dog when she was short of ten months old.  She is smart, gentle, affectionate and a little crazy at times.  I love her just the way she is.

Thank you again.

Good Afternoon,
I just wanted to send you this picture of "Rylee". Rylee came from the June 25th litter of Goldendoodles. I am pretty sure you said that she was the smallest one of the litter. She is about 52lbs now and I tell everyone she is part Golden Retriever part Poodle and part pig....she actually lays down to eat. She has done this since we brought her home. She has really turned out to be a sweet smart dog. She has a big sister "Lady" and they are so much fun to watch.
Thank you so much for raising such great dogs.
Happy Holidays,

Diane & Steve

Hi Barbara,
We bought a goldendoodle puppy, "Snickerdoodle", from you 10 years ago and she is doing well.  She has been my son's steadfast and beloved companion for all these years. She still acts like a young dog. No one believes that she is 10.
We are thinking to expand our doggie family and were wondering if you would be expecting/planning to have any litters in late October/early November.
Would appreciate any information you could provide, looking into the future.A picture of Snickerdoodle, taken today, is attached. She sends her greetings as well.

Kind Regards,

P.S.  I wanted to mention to you that  Snickers has been the healthiest dog I have ever owned.  I appreciate that care that you took in the breeding.

Thank you so much for Ajax is the joy in our life!  Thus the commissioned portrait!  Father's Day gift for my hubby .  Again thank you.  Our family has benefited tremendously from Ajax.  All. The best  The Townsends

Sailor was in a children's patriotic parade today and they won first place! Best behaved dog there! She is a delight and we are having so much fun with her!

Barbara, here is a current picture of Trixie. At 11 months she weighs 52 pounds. I can't tell you how wonderful she is.

Dear Clardy family,

We adopted Libby a year ago and have been meaning to send pictures for quite some time. We hope you enjoy them.

She is a great dog! She is very laid back, very social, great with kids, hardly barks. We get so many compliments on how beautiful she is.

We "may" be interested in a second puppy.

We just wanted to say hello and let you know how Karma and Barkley are doing. We got them from you in Dec, and in fact their one year birthday is coming up on 10/25! I wanted to send you some photos and let you know that we just love them and are so happy. They really are very different, night and day to be honest. Karma is absolutely crazy, spunky, independent and brilliant! Barkley, the boy, is the most loyal, loving, good listening dog we have ever had. They make our lives so much fun and they always keep us on our toes. We had one question. . . do you keep track of what order the pups are born in? We were wondering who was born first, Karma or Barkley? They have grown quite a bit since they saw you last. THank you so much. We recommend you to everyone we know who is interested in goldendoodles and we often check your website just for fun. Barkley is always in the blue bandana and Karma is in purple or pink.
Cindy, Garrett, Karma and Barkley

Hi Barbara,
We love Coconut! She has turned out to be the most well-behaved, cutest dog. She fits into our family perfectly. Our two boys absolutely adore her. We can’t wait to see her in our pool. We’ve met two other Golden Doodles from Barleycroft (not sure if they are half brothers or not) which are also wonderful dogs. A lot of people have asked where we got her and I’ve given them your name. If you ever need a reference in our area feel free to give us a call. Attached is a copy of her spay certificate and a picture of her at 6 months.

Have a great summer!
Mark and Karen

Hi Mrs. Clardy,
My ANYA just had her first birthday. What a beautiful, sweet dog she is...attentive, (learning to be) obedient...we're going to take Basic Training II this summer... I've thought of Barleycroft often and just wanted to thank you..a year later.

Suzi and ANYA

Dear Barb,

Samantha has been with us just over a week and she’s a true joy! Her trip home to Hopewell Jct., NY was long
with lots of thunderstorms and she calmly sat and slept between my 2 boys the whole way.

She’s very bright and is housebreaking easily. She sleeps well at night and has all the wonderful qualities we could only hope for…gentle, calm, smart, fun and very adaptable. Her checkup at the vet went smoothly…she had gained 8 oz. since her arrival.
We’re very happy! Thank you!

Thank you so much for breeding such wonderful puppies. We picked up Griffin on July 25, 2006. He is in his new home just a week now and is a love. He has a very mellow way about him,. but is also very playful. He was the very shy puppy in the litter, but once he settled in the real puppy came out in him. He sleeps through the night and is very easy to house train as he has had only two accidents in one week. Steven and I could not be more pleased as is our Vet. We are recommending your kennel to our friends who have fallen in love with Griffin. Will send pictures soon.

Barbara -
Just a quick hello and greetings from New York. Elvis is almost 4 1/2 months old now and doing great - he's loving, kind, easygoing and cuddly. Actually, he's one of the most laid-back dogs I've ever met! He loves to play with other dogs, and he enjoys his walks with me and the kids. His favorite is picking the kids up from school - he gets lots of attention! One of his passions is crunching ice cubes - every time he hears the ice maker in our fridge churn, he comes running. He sits and lays down, knows the names of his toys and is pretty much house trained. His vet is happy with him as well, he's just got his lyme shots and didn't even flinch. We're about to train him on the invisible fence, and I think that will make both him and us very happy! Everyone who meets him comments on his good looks, and I've passed along the name of your kennel to several people already. Thanks so much for giving us this great animal - we love him!
Best to you and yours

Hi Barbara,
It's been awhile since I've given you an update on Max. He's doing very well. He's just about at 8 months, and he's probably about 55lbs. I meant to write to you when he was fixed in August, but time goes by so fast!

Anyway, he's really such a happy guy. We're having a lot of fun, and he's very popular wherever we go. We were just at the beach last Sunday and nearly everyone we walked by wanted to know what kind of breed he was.
He's made lots of dog friends in the neighborhood, and he gets along with everyone, every dog, every child etc. Hope all is going well.

Just wanted to drop a quick note...but with a big thanks for providing us with such a wonderful puppy!! We've named him Satch, and he has been a dream! NOBODY can get over how calm and sweet he is when held and I truly think you should market your handling skills with your's so obvious that you cared for these puppies in a loving way. Also- no one can get over how adorable he is...

Satch has adjusted amazingly well with us. I cleared my schedule this week so I've had an intense bonding experience with him and it's paying off. He seems secure and happy. He's eating well and had a very good vet visit...the vet proclaimed him a very healthy puppy.

Thank you again...we are so in love with Satch...
Karen & Jim

I just had to write and thank you for our precious new addition. She had her first vet appointment today and she had about 7 staff members around her astounded that she already knows how to sit and give her paw. They said she is in great health and she has a heck of a personality. She is very smart and is adjusting very well to the crate - even the first night....and we only had to get up once last night to let her out.

I cannot tell you how thrilled we are and I wanted to thank you for the work you are doing - its certainly pays off.
Best Regards,

Hi there and Merry Christmas!
We just wanted to let you know that Haley is doing wonderfully! She is eating and drinking well and loves to play and sleep. She has been among many people in the last two days and is taking it all in stride. She loves her crate and has slept all night without crying for us since the day we brought her home. Potty training is going
well too--only two accidents. Thanks so much again. You can tell how much care you take of your animals. She is certainly bringing us a lot of happiness!

Hi Barbara,
Thought you might like to see a picture of your pups. I love them!!! They are great. The groomer tells me they are the best dogs she has ever had. Daisy is 7 months/43 pounds in the picture and Heidi is 4 months/31 pounds. Abby (the Frank's dog) is a healthy 80 pounds at almost a year old. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. Happy and Healthy New Year to all.

Hi Barbara! Happy New Year! Here's a pic of our boy, Asher. He is a wonderful pup and we love him so much! When I'm on the computer, he snuggles on my feet under the desk.
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy 2007!

Hello Barbara,
I wanted to let you know we have the documents that Krystal was spade and I will send them off to you this week. I attached some newer photos of our "Doodlebops" :) Both Bentley and Krystal are doing great and they are such good friends. They really make us happy each day. Krystal adjusted very well to her new home with us and it is hard to believe but I think she is even a little tiny bit more spoiled that Bentley especially since she is a major momma's girl! We are excited for their first Christmas with us and I am impressed at how well they have been staying away from the Christmas tree. I hope you enjoy these pictures and again I will send you proof of her getting spade this week to you. Enjoy your holidays!

Hi Barbara-

I have given out your name so many times recently I thought I'd check in and send you a picture of the world's best dog. This is Barley; we got him from you in January of 2008. He is absolutely wonderful and we couldn't imagine life without him! He and my son are best pals and Barley is the happiest, most even tempered dog--and the best listener--I swear he understands what I'm saying!

A couple of times a week he spends the day in a yarn/knitting shop with me where he is known as the official shop greeter. I think he knows its his job because he is so excited to go to "work".  I can't tell you how many customers have remarked on what a gem of a dog he is; some call ahead to see what days he is in so they can visit with him!

As first time dog owners we couldn't have picked a better breed or breeder.  Many thanks for the great start in life you have given our Barley and I'm sure many others like him. If you ever need a NJ reference we'd be happy to provide it!

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write but I wanted to send a few pictures of Tucker to you.  He is now almost 8 months old (April 29th) and he is just the sweetest most fun dog to be around.  He has an amazing temperment and just loves to be around people and dogs at all times.  He lives in NYC but has a beach house that he gets to run free at on the weekends.  He swam for the first time two weeks ago in Cape Cod Bay and LOVED it!  He has brought such joy to my life.  Thank you.
I hope all is well with you.

Hi Barbara -

It's been a while since I've emailed you, but I thought since Buckley just celebrated his 1st birthday, I'd send you some updated pictures. We have loved every minute of every day we've had Buckley! I can't imagine my life without him!

I hope you're doing well!
